Simon graduated from the University of Warwick in 2001 with a degree in microbiology, including a year spent working in a virus laboratory at then-GlaxoWellcome. Having previously established the science section of the university newspaper, he saw medical writing as the perfect way to combine his interest in science and medicine with a love of writing. After a few years in medical education and publications, he moved into healthcare advertising in order to stretch his creative muscles. From 2007 onwards he worked as a freelance copywriter for most of the big advertising and medical communication agencies in London.

Simon brings over 20 years of experience of translating high-level scientific data into simple yet persuasive messages across a range of products and therapeutic areas for a variety of audiences.

In his spare time, Simon enjoys mud runs and obstacle races, writing for film and TV magazines, and hosting a movie-themed pub quiz that Time Out magazine called one of the “50 best nights out in London”.
